Litha means midsummer. This painting was made in June when the weather was warm and damp. It was inspired by walking in meadows filled with wildflowers on the South Downs, Brighton. The sheep that graze the field make interesting pathways. Michelle used these pathways to inspire the composition of the painting. This is one of a pair of paintings. The other is called Midsummer.

Warm greens and soft reds and pinks give the painting a harmonious and lively feel.

Made on hand stretched cotton duck and sustainable wood stretcher bars.

The sides of Litha are painted the same as the image.

It is signed on the back and has the studio stamp on the side.

The painting is ready to hang on the wall.
